This is a Contract position in Princeton Township, NJ posted March 24, 2020.

Controller CHEMRES is a fast-paced, growth-oriented global supplier of commodity and engineering resins seeking a Controller in Princeton, NJ to support continued growth.

We manage a dynamic customer base consisting of Fortune 500 companies.

The Controller manages the Accounting team and is responsible for the accounting, tax, and finance sectors of the organization.

The successful applicant will be experienced in financial reporting, audits, manufacturing cost accounting, budgeting, and be able to communicate effectively with customers as well as vendors.

The successful applicant will also be a self-motivated, quick learner with proven organizational, computer and multi-tasking skills.

Minimum Job Responsibilities: Management
• Manage training and development of the Accounting team as well as allocate team responsibilities
• Assist with hiring of Accounting team members
• Timely AP and AR reporting, bill entry, payables, and collections
• Assist and train team in categorizing transactions into correct GL accounts
• Create and monitor budgets for sales, income statement, cash flow, capex, repairs & maintenance
• Collaborate with plant manager and external vendors to identify and categorize plant expenses, and establish expenses limits to help ensure budget accuracy
• Maintain fixed assets list and conduct periodic audits
• Collaborate with other teams to initiate and implement system improvement projects
• Manage insurance needs
• Manage bank relationships Financial Reporting
• Work with Accounting team to ensure timely closing of books and preparation of all reports needed for monthly, quarterly, annually, and other periodic reporting
• Reconcile accounts and analyze general ledger
• Prepare reports and documentation needs for banks, board members, investors, and outside auditors Data Analysis
• Use tools such as Excel and Tableau to analyze data and present to management, investors and board members
• Cost Accounting
– Direct inventory physicals, reconciliations in system, and inventory valuation
• Tax
– Coordinate with tax accountants to file returns in a timely manner.

Manage sales tax certifications and reporting.

Cost Control
• Understand commodity markets and pricing to effectively participate in purchase and sale price negotiations.

• Assist customer service team to implement cost saving opportunities pertaining to logistics costs
• Manage claims on both the customer and vendor side
• Participate in contract reviews and negotiations
• Additional projects and tasks as assigned Job Requirements:
• Minimum 4-year degree in Finance or Accounting.

Masters and/or CPA strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles
• Minimum 7 years working experience
• Minimum 3 years managerial experience
• Very strong computer and problem-solving skills.

Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Accounting Software, and Word
• Experience with an ERP system required; SAP and/or Oracle based systems preferred
• Experience with data analysis and presentation required
• Experience with manufacturing firm preferred
• Experience with managing financial reporting and audits required
• Experience in partnering with an executive team and demonstrating a high level of written and oral communication skills
• Understanding of inventory management as it relates to accounting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Independent, analytical, self-starter a must
• Very strong computer skills and advanced proficiency in excel
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills a must
