Job Description Vice President & Actuary (Annuities Pricing) (ANN000UI)Job DescriptionVice President & Actuary (Annuities Pricing)-ANN000UIDescriptionGiven the role it plays in helping customers address their financial challenges, Individual Annuities is a key strategic business for Prudential.

This Vice President role is part of Annuities Actuarial, a centralized Actuarial function supporting the Annuities business.

The successful candidate will lead the development & pricing of our rapidly expanding suite of Indexed Annuity products.

The role entails working closely with the entire annuity pricing team and cross-functional partnership with areas including Product, Investments, Valuation, Corporate Actuarial, Risk and Finance.

This is a visible role to senior leaders within the business & corporate functions, allowing opportunities to influence management decisions and drive results, and therefore requires a high degree of communication, collaboration and creativity!Responsibilities: Oversee production activities such as rate-setting, profitability reporting, assumption maintenance and regulatory compliance.

Familiarity with existing pricing models, assumptions & methodologies along with continually seeking opportunities for improvement.

Lead the profitability & risk assessment of new product designs and other (non-development) initiatives thru assumption and model development.

Collaborate with business partners and seek sustainable solutions to any complex problems.

Provide insightful analysis, identify & clearly communicate keyresults drivers and sensitivities.

Make supportable recommendations to optimize the risk/return profile.

Ensure successful implementation of new products/processes through appropriate planning, peer review and coordination with business partners.

Awareness of emerging trends in the competitive & regulatory landscape that may provide threats or opportunities to our business.

Maintain appropriate documentation & controls for all work.

Manage a staff of 3-4 actuaries to support aforementioned efforts by setting appropriate deadlines, assisting with prioritization and providing development opportunities.Skills:Critical Thinking, Innovative Mindset, Knowledge Sharing, External Focus, CommunicationQualifications B.S./ B.A.

required Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation (FSA) with 10+ years of actuarial experience, including 3+ years of management experience.

Experience pricing fixed indexed or indexed variable annuities with a solid understanding of ALM, valuation & product management considerations pertaining to such products Experience with actuarial/modeling software (MATLAB, GGY Axis, Python, etc.) Strong ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical individuals Strong quantitative and analytical skills along with an “innovative” mindset Good research skills; ability to gather and distill information from internal and external sources in order to develop action plans Ability to handle multiple projects and collaborate with numerous business partners and influence/drive results in a large organizationPrudential is a multinational financial services leader with operations in the United States Asia Europe and Latin America.
