Director, Technical Accounting

What You’ll Do: Perform technical accounting research on complex accounting issues and provide accounting guidance to business partners under US GAAP Lead the implementation of new accounting standards (as applicable) and review of new accounting policies, as well as educate management on the upcoming changes Manage outside consultants assisting with various projects and implementations such as third-party valuation firms Manage accounting for technical accounting areas, such as lease accounting, revenue recognition, hedge accounting, and stock-based compensation Write position papers on various accounting topics and review with the Company’s management and external auditors Preparation and documentation of purchase accounting in connection with business combinations/acquisitions Review and assist local/brand management with fixed asset impairment assessments Prepare quarterly and annual intangible asset impairment assessments including assisting with the preparation of valuations Review the accounting associated with various bank financing arrangements Assist the financial reporting group with the preparation of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.), as needed You’ll Need to Have: B.S.

or above degree in Accounting CPA required Prior experience in a technical accounting or similar role Experience preparing and reviewing fair value analyses associated with business combinations and goodwill/intangible asset impairment testing Strong knowledge of U.S.

GAAP and SEC Regulations S-K and S-X Excellent project management skills with a high level of organization and attention to detail Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills Ability to understand and communicate complex information, including accounting interpretations, to individuals at all levels of management Ability to analyze operations and develop and implement effective solutions to problems Experience in SEC reporting, general accounting and internal/external audit procedures Minimum 5 years public accounting experience with 3 years private experience at a publicly traded company Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Experience with various on-line accounting research tools
