Chapter Next is a 12-16 week paid returnship hosted by RMS. Candidates who have taken a professional hiatus for at least 2+ years will be eligible to apply to this program.

During this returnship participants will become part of a community of similarly experienced professionals with challenging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by Lockheed Martin. Selected candidates will be exposed to comprehensive training, professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and individual based mentoring

Our goal is to provide the fundamental tools needed to be successful in your career field, and to potentially prepare you for an opportunity to join Lockheed Martin full-time. Fields of focus will be diverse across the program and include functional and technical opportunities.

This returnship position is for an Infrastructure Systems Engineer and will be located in Moorestown, NJ. The selected individual will contribute to the organization in the following ways:
• Participate in the support, maintenance, integration, and test of the network and computing infrastructure.
• Deploy, maintain, and upgrade switches, routers, firewalls, and servers
• Support the troubleshooting and debugging of network through the use of network test equipment and tools (i.e. wireshark, network analyzer)
• Install, configure, integrate, manage, debug, and maintain Linux workstation and server software and hardware environments
• Oversee the network and server security compliance, auditing, and remediation. Use the ACAS scanner and STIGs to provide report and plans to for remediation.
• Develop documentation for specific installations and configurations necessary to support operations and ongoing support activities.
• Participate on design teams for computing infrastructure.
• Participate in product selection, recommendation, design, deployment, integration and test.
• Investigate, develop and design the network and computing architecture and assist the software application and development effort as it relates to the computing architecture.
• Some travel may be required to off-site locations including direct waterfront support to surface ships.
Basic Qualifications:
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent.
• 2 years experience in related aerospace manufacturing or Engineering Field
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance (Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain a clearance)
Desired Skills:
• Ability to develop test scripts (bash, csh, perl) and software test drivers (C/C++ and Java) to exercise test procedures on multiple Linux/Unix-based platforms.
• Ability to effectively construct verification, regression and performance analysis test plans and procedures, according to existing Aegis CPS/SIEPs and MS2 Work Instructions.
• Understanding of software product family engineering principles related to the definition of reference architectures, product variants and methods to manage product variation.
• Understanding of the Linux/Unix OE, process management and associated communication principles.
• Ability to define and document system structural and behavioral analysis models necessary for the definition of software requirements specifications (SRS) and verification test threads (regression and ET&E).
• Ability to decompose, define and document system performance requirements and associated key measurements of effectiveness.
• Ability to decompose, define and document software requirements specifications (SRS) associated with the definition of middleware and fault detection/fault isolation operations and component behaviors.
• Ability to conduct product selection and design trade studies that evaluate stakeholder needs against product/design alternatives.
• Ability to interact with a software development team to ensure that developed software products meet documented SRS.
• Ability to prepare briefings and technical reports. Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication.
• Experience with Agile systems development and/or DevOps. Familiarity with continuous integration frameworks such as Jenkins is preferred.
• Experience with IBM DOORS requirements management preferred.
• Experience with SysML/UML and IBM Rhapsody preferred.
• Experience with data management, analytics or prognostics is preferred.
• Ability to review detailed software designs and developed source code. C/C++ and Java experience preferred.
• Knowledge of network technologies and associated services, management, and security practices/techniques .
• Knowledge of Linux system administration.
• Knowledge of Cisco Switches, Network Test, Network Security, Network Analyzer, Network Management systems.
• Knowledge of requirements Analysis DOORS, UML, and other system engineering practices.
• Strong Business Acumen including effective oral, written and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills and report development, metric and trend analysis
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel) experience
• Organized and detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks concurrently
• Background in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, Off-prem/public cloud infrastructure experience, Amazon Web Services, Pivitol Cloud Foundary, Microsoft Azure, On-prem cloud infrastructure experience.
• HCI experience including Vmware, vSphere, Redhat, Openshift, Management of Infrastructure as Code ( IaaC ), Software repository ( Artifactory/Nexxus ), and Ansible.
