R&D Global Sourcing Manager

The Organisation Our client is a transforming and research-driven Pharmaceutical company who are globally expanding their operations at this time, including a strong investment in their Procurement and Strategic Sourcing functions.

The Opportunity A new Sourcing Manager position has been created within the global strategic sourcing function.

This position will be responsible for strategic sourcing, contracting and supplier management in support of global drug development activities for the organization.

Categories may include contract research, functional service providers, laboratories, imaging, ARO, SMO, site contracts, professional services, clinical trial supplies, KOLs and SMEs/consultants.

The individual taking on this new position must have a problem-solving mindset at a strategic level, with the ability to visualize the path forward and inspire collaboration to do this.

Responsibilities: Key task and responsibilities: Leads project teams through all stages of supplier selection, negotiation, contracting and lessons learned at contract completion Develops requests for information (RFI), requests for proposal (RFP), and similar documents to facilitate identification, qualification, and selection of appropriate suppliers.

Performs high quality, targeted searches to locate specific capabilities Collaborates with teams and functions to explore creatively all sourcing options (buy/make decision) and drive for optimal resourcing to meet both short and long term needs Pro-actively manages internal relationships to drive cross-functional collaboration and ensure a seamless interface with key stakeholders Maintains effective relationships with suppliers to achieve timely resolution of concerns.

Escalates issues when appropriate to Category Lead and/or Global Head of Sourcing Interacts appropriately with global colleagues and Category Leads to ensure regional or local issues and needs are fully articulated and understood Ensures HCP contracts comply with all applicable reporting and transparency requirements Complies with all departmental, corporate and regulatory requirements for documentation, archiving and project/budget tracking Perform other departmental duties, as assigned Requirements: The successful Applicant will possess the following skills and attributes: Minimum B.A.

/B.S.

in life sciences, business administration, finance, or other relevant field CPSM, MCIPS, IACCM or equivalent (preferred) Minimum of 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry with at least 3 years experience in clinical or R&D sourcing In-depth knowledge and understanding of drug development operations preferably gained through direct experience in early or late stage development environment or allied function Thorough understanding of industry best practices related to drug development, global regulatory requirements, and outsourcing models Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and analytical skills The ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively with all MTPG staff Competency in standard Microsoft Office applications Benefits statement
