Scientific Account Director

This is a Contract position in Princeton Township, NJ posted March 24, 2020.

Job Location Main offices in Princeton, NJ.

Approximately 1/3 of our staff works remotely.

We are in search of talented scientific account director.

Onsite preferred but not required.

General Description The role of the Director, Scientific Communications is to be the primary contact with the client and the bridge among all stakeholders on the account with the client.

This includes direct verbal and written communications with clients and their designees including other vendors and investigators, researchers, and authors.

When assigned to smaller accounts, the Director may be required to assume responsibilities normally addressed by an account manager.

When assigned to larger accounts, the director may receive support from an account manager.

An effective director will continually drive project and account goals and objectives internally and externally.

In addition, this individual is to establish internal and external timelines and manage project deliverables within the approved budget.

Job Responsibilities
· Direct communication with the client lead (Sr.

Level)
· Manage projects within goals and objectives
· Strategic analysis and tactical planning
· Publication plan management
· Create and oversee timelines
· Supports executive lead with client services
· Coordinate/facilitate/manage publication team activities and projects
· Create meeting agendas, action items, and meeting summaries for internal and client distribution
· Act as liaison for internal and external communications with assigned accounts
· Provide regular status reports and manage task lists on assigned accounts progress for all project areas
· Liaise and coordinate with creative and editorial to ensure accurate and timely delivery of publication plan assets and projects
· Works directly with executive lead on development of proposals and budgets
· Engages client stakeholders, key opinion leaders, authors, and outside vendors at the direction of senior director or executive lead
· Supports client executive lead on special projects, ad hoc initiatives, and business development
· Create and oversee budgets
· Manage project within budget/resource parameters
· Monitor resource utilization per project, reporting overage and out-of-scope activities to appropriate senior lead
· Participates in business development initiatives
· Other duties as assigned Qualifications Five years’ experience in Publication Planning, Medical Writing, Project Management CMPP certification is ideal and preferred Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical communications/education industry, or ancillary area Scientific degree or clinical experience helpful but not required Account management experience – including direct interaction with the client(s) to manage projects at a senior level is required Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Reputation for superb follow-up and responsiveness Must be deadline driven Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint Schedule flexibility and dedicated work ethic All applicants will be given an writing test
