Experience Design Lead


This is a Contract position in South Brunswick, NJ posted January 15, 2020.

Our client a digital consultancy, who act as a digital partner helping brands achieve their digital vision, is looking for a user focused experience design lead to work with them as part of a small embedded team for a progressive mid-tier bank.

The client is based in the UK but due to increased demand is setting up an office in Hoboken (New Jersey) so they can help their partner build new products and services utilising the latest digital technologies.

They need someone with a passion for human-centered design thinking who can strategize, envision and craft new experiences and product design solutions utilising emergent technologies.

You will bring your expertise into a lean team of digital experts to uncover the validity, desirability and feasibility of potential new products and service opportunities.

Day to day role and responsibilities
● Work alongside and partner with product strategist and technologist to work as a single decision team to uncover the business viability and understand technical feasibility
● Identify strategic opportunities based on primary research and desk research findings to uncover the desirability of new products
● Provide expert guidance in leading, conducting, and synthesizing qualitative research – including surveys, concept testing, ethnographic studies and heuristic reviews
● Lead the development of user stories from identified personas and market segments that can be clearly tied to business objectives and user needs
● Drive rapid ideation exploration through prototype experiences
● Create user flows, journeys, service blueprints and low to high fidelity wireframes/prototypes across different stages of the design process
● Lead and mentor product designers within the product teams to inform and improve design
● Be an ambassador for design thinking, innovation, and human-centered design
● Travel to multiple locations for researching, co-creation, and testing What you’ll bring
● Product development and agile design process
– including attending daily stand-ups, review sessions, and sprint planning
● Strong presentation abilities (both documentation and storytelling) internally and for clients
● Must be well-versed in human-centered design methods and techniques
● Excellent analytical and process-oriented skills
● Proficient expert in using tools (not limited to): Sketch, Marvel, Abstract, Adobe creative suite, prototyping tools
– Invision, Principle, etc.

● Strong knowledge of components and design systems
● Knowledge or understanding of service design methods and principles
● Knowledge of fintech and/or financial services sectors
