Thin Film Coating Technician (2nd Shift)

Our Crystal Coating team in Budd Lake, NJ is seeking a Thin Film Coating Technician (2nd shift) to join the team. This position is responsible for executing precise cleaning and fixturing processes on delicate crystals developed and grown in our facility. Included are the following tasks: Perform, under moderate supervision, standard and non-standard handling, cleaning, loading & unloading tooling fixturesLoad optical substrates into vacuum coating chambers for thin film coatingsInspect and clean substrates before and after coating runsIdentify non-conformances in the material and properly select associated tooling per the part number and job numberAssist engineering and senior techs on routine equipment maintenanceSandblast and chemically clean tooling/fixturesHandle various chemicals for cleaning; ie. methanol, acetone, IPA & anhydrous alcoholPerform spectral wavelength, transmission and reflectivity measurementsWork in clean room attire; full coverall jumpsuit, booties, shoe covers, hairnet and/or beard cover, and glovesWork with microscopes, tweezers & small hand tools for loading/unloading crystals into fixturesEnter data into the company computer software programAbide by all company safety requirements Education and Work Experience: Required Qualifications: 2+ years of experience working in a high-tech manufacturing or production environmentBasic computer/data entry skillsPrevious experience using microscopesBasic reading, writing and math skillsDemonstrated attention to detail Desired Qualifications: Vocational Training or Associates Degree in relevant technical fieldPrevious experience in optics thin-film coatingPrevious experience working with small/delicate parts & materials – demonstrated excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterityPrevious experience performing repetitive work on a regular basisPrevious experience reading, understanding and following procedures and work instructionsDimensional measuring experience We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
