JOB TITLE: Business Requirements Analyst/Quality Assurance

REPORTS TO: Director of Business Analysis and Quality Assurance


The Business Requirements Analyst/Quality Assurance Analyst will be directly responsible for documenting and testing in an Enterprise wide retail environment. The candidate will work with multiple lines of businesses to determine test scenarios based on requirement documents/stories. Full documentation is the responsibility of the candidate to support all SOX processes. Test data creation, coordination and maintenance is required to support multiple applications in a retail environment. Developing an understanding of retail product lifecycles, inventory and commerce systems and applying that knowledge in the testing. The candidate will need to be able to record and present results to management as well as field questions around the testing. He/She will also develop methodologies for performance logging and maintain a suite of tests and scripts to analyze performance metrics. The candidate will be directly responsible to sign off on performance and testing changes prior to production deployments. The candidate will be part of a small team personally responsible for ensuring system readiness for over $2 Billion in sales.

Job Requirements:


  • Work closely with all teams to develop an understanding of an enterprise wide complex retail ecosystem
  • Review, understand and become an expert on all new requirements for software development
  • Construct Enterprise wide documentation to support all programs
  • Collaborate with the different LOBs for User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • As needed, gather, analyze and document business requirements and processes
  • Record information technology (IT) definitions based on identified needs of the organization
  • Continuous Process Improvement is required
  • Ensure that budgets are adhered to and deadlines are met
  • Identify options for potential solutions and assess them from both technical and business feasibility
  • Based on agreed upon scope, develop and execute testing scripts that fully exercise all functionality
  • Take ownership and ensure that end to end cycle testing is completed for each initiative
  • Become subject matter expert across all systems with regard to tender processing
  • participate and lead in software quality assurance phase as required
  • Additional responsibilities as required
  • Complies at all times with the Standards, Policies and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics as outlined in the Employee Handbook


  • Bachelor’s degree required, in an IT-related field
  • 3+ years or working experience in the field as a IT business analyst
  • 5+ years of testing experience in a retail organization
  • Substantial knowledge in business application systems, enterprise, distributed, multi-tier/web-services, web-based applications
  • Expert in Quality Assurance practices in an Agile methodology environment
  • Experience in working with enterprise wide data sets
  • Expert in requirements documentation procedures
  • Experience in Testing Automation, performance testing utilizing a variety of products
  • Experience implementing client server and/or web-based applications
  • Understanding of Cloud Based architecture
  • Expert knowledge of software development life-cycle and methodologies
  • Experience in system architecture mapping
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, Project and Visio
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read communication styles of team members and clients who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
