Associate Director, Alumni Engagement and Experiential Learning

Associate Director, Alumni Engagement and Experiential Learning US-NJ-Princeton Job ID: 2019-11261 Type: Full-Time of Openings: 1 Category: Student Affairs and Services Princeton University Overview The Associate Director for Alumni Engagement and Experiential Learning position exists to build and enhance opportunities for student-alumni networking and student participation in experiential career development activities.

The Associate Director reports to the Senior Associate Director for Alumni Engagement and Experiential Learning, and serves as a key member of a team charged with dramatically increasing alumni engagement in student career exploration and experiential learning.

Through the recruitment and stewardship of alumni volunteers, this position has direct responsibility for building relationships and processes to increase and enhance opportunities for student-alumni connections for both undergraduate and graduate students.

This includes supporting all strategy and logistics for programs in the portfolio of this position.

Responsibilities Strategy Implementation & Data Oversight
• Serve as team lead for Salesforce CRM tool and forms tool, ensuring strategic and coordinated outreach and tracking of alumni participation.

Build features within Salesforce to streamline alumni engagement programs.

Ensure that data is shared appropriately throughout the office and with campus partners, using a variety of technology tools.

Develop systems for alumni volunteer recruitment using Salesforce.

Manage data within Salesforce to ensure that all data is current and accurate.

• Create, implement, and manage strategies and processes to recruit and engage alumni who match the profiles needed for our suite of programs.

Maintain alumni relationships in order to identify opportunities to engage interested volunteers.

• Develop and steward relationships with key alumni and parents to maintain a robust volunteer base for all programs.

• Maintain partnerships with University alumni-facing offices to ensure collaboration on major programs and events.

• Collaborate with Advancement and Alumni Relations in implementing student-alumni networking tools.

Support technology implementation for alumni-student networking platforms.

Program Development & Management
• Develop and manage a wide range of innovative programs and resources intended to promote deeper career connections between Princeton alumni and students, including opportunities to support graduate student and graduate alumni programming.

• Oversee and support logistics, outreach, marketing and educational programming for Treks.

Deliver training and orientation for participants.

• Plan and host student-alumni networking receptions in cities across the country based on student internship locations.

• Recruit and steward alumni volunteers and student participants.

• Support other student-alumni networking programs overseen by team.

Direct Student Service
• Meet individually or in groups with students to provide coaching and advising to help students clarify values, interests, skills, and strengths.

• Assist students with the development of action plans and follow-up strategy.

Reporting and Analysis
• Oversee budget, assessment and outcomes reporting for areas of programmatic oversight.

• Use data to drive decision-making with an eye toward continuous improvement.

Qualifications Qualifications
• Experience working with a CRM tool and proven experience in building and managing systems preferred
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a professional role in a university setting, with a preference for experience working directly with students and/or alumni
• Proven ability to think strategically and analytically in building processes
• Proven track record and experience in building relationships and managing programs
• Experience in providing group and individual career coaching and advising to students, and knowledge of and experience applying career development and student development theories and practices
• Comfort with change, ambiguity, and risk in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• High levels of resourcefulness and organizational savvy
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Experience in working with and supporting underrepresented populations, and deep commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion goals
