We are seeking an experienced Director of Paid Search and SEO to join the Bed Bath & Beyond team to lead our digital marketing and search strategies across multiple concepts, including Bed Bath & Beyond, buybuy Baby, Christmas Tree Shops andThat!, and Harmon Face Values.

This leader will lead the search practice with an initial team that will include direct responsibilities for a 7-person team, oversight over a significant agency relationship, and indirect leadership of a 10+ person technology team, including a significant SEO development team.

If the candidate has the appropriate background digital MMM attribution team may also report to this role.Essential Responsibilities: Leader on the digital marketing team responsible for multiple Bed Bath & Beyond concepts, including creating and scaling data-driven online prospect and customer marketing strategiesIdentifying, implementing, and optimizing paid search program to drive incremental and profitable sales through text and shopping campaigns. Drive SEO agenda focusing on both the technical and content ranking programs through internal staff as well as collaboration with IT and Ecommerce partners.Building, managing, and coaching an effective digital marketing team and network of marketing partners to deliver the goals of the organizationCreating omnichannel marketing strategies that drive prospects and customers to our US and Canadian stores to deepen engagement and interest in our products and servicesLeading innovation and advancement of the overall digital marketing agenda through the development and execution of a multi-year roadmapChampioning innovation in the digital marketing space and providing leadership and influence within the organization.

Continually assessing the overall digital marketing landscape to identify consumer trends and marketing partners.Overseeing and closely monitoring the paid search and organic marketing budget, ensuring the budget is effectively managed as we scale our programsCollaborating with technology, ecommerce and analytics teams to deliver on roadmap, measure, and continually optimize our programsProvide reporting, benchmarks and analysis, to inform company-wide decision-making and to ensure campaign targets are met.

Leverages analytics and metrics to identify areas for optimization, improvements in messaging/creative and operational/cost efficiencies.Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer informationLeading development of customer and program insights to drive innovative online marketing programs, and improve overall results; experimenting with a wide array of ever-changing online channels/tactics to understand and improve campaign effectivenessEducation Requirements: Minimum – A Bachelor’s degree, with specific training / experience in related field Preferred – A Master’s degree, with specific training / experience in related field Experience Requirements:8+ years of digital marketing experience, ideally with a retail and/or ecommerce focusDeep understanding of Paid Search, SEO and the wider digital marketing landscapeExperience hiring, managing and developing high-performance teamsDemonstrated knowledge of key metrics for effective ROI analysisAbility to work in a fast moving environment that is constantly changingAgency management experience required; agency experience is a plusExperience with budgeting and forecastingRetail experience is a plusOther skills or certifications:Significant experience with SEM (especially Google shopping), SEO, and affiliate solutions, including hands-on knowledge and ability to coach others in knowledge of SEM bidding platforms,Experience with web analytics (e.g., Adobe Omniture Site Catalyst, Google Analytics, etc.)Proficient in MS Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPointDimensions / Competencies:Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skillsIntellectual curiosity about user behavior, flows and channelsStrong passion for testing, data and metrics and belief in discovering insights in dataExcellent quantitative and analytical skills use and analyze data to inform media strategies and optimizationsProven leadership & strategic skillsDesire to become established as a company thought leaderExcellent organizational and project management skills; organized with ability to multi-task, prioritize, work quickly and to tight deadlinesSelf-starterStrong/proven collaboration skills
