BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Veterans Jobs Job Description Summary Job Description The role of Director, TGS Portfolio Management will be responsible for leading a team of associates accountable for governing and executing our portfolio management process from demand initiation through execution.

The position will collaborate across TGS Leadership and key Business Partners to ensure TGS delivers its key projects, enables strategic alignment (technologies & business priorities), and drives standard tools & methodologies.

This position reports directly to the Vice President, Functional Excellence for TGS and will work directly with Functional Excellence leadership, key business partners, (HR, Enterprise Portfolio Management, Finance, Info Sec, and Internal Audit), along side TGS leadership.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Primary responsibilities will include: Develop, execute and maintain the portfolio governance process from initiation through execution.

Lead key portfolio review mechanisms as defined by the new operating model and evaluate improvement opportunities to drive effective governance.

Potential mechanisms to include, but not limited to, Portfolio Review Board, Improvement Review Boards and Project Integration Reviews.

Ensure consistent adoption of project methodologies, standard tools & technologies, artifacts, and processes to facilitate portfolio discussions, communicate program status and enable effective decision making.

Manages portfolio management artifacts, decisions, communications, metrics, and reporting Drive the planning, preparation, resource allocation, project prioritization and review of TGS’s Portfolio in partnership with TGS Portfolio Manager and TGS Business Partner.

Collaborates with Finance and Business Partners to ensure costs estimates across the project life cycle and post implementation are analyzed, reported and tracked as part of the Portfolio Review Board outputs.

Ensure program and project risks/issues impacting successful delivery are brought to the attention of the Executive team.

Partners closely with the Business, Regions and Central Teams Business Partners to analyze new projects and readiness for governance decisions and provides transparency of portfolio investments/funding mechanisms.

Create a collaborative partnership among executive leaders and portfolio stakeholders and enables resource demand planning, change management and project pipeline planning decisions Partner with Enterprise Portfolio Management to support the delivery and evolution of BD’s enterprise project planning and execution toolset against a defined roadmap.

Build and scale a high-performing team of project managers and business analysts.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic understanding, outstanding project management capabilities, excellent relationship management experience, strong change management and communication skills and influencing skills together.

In addition, this person should also possess: 8 years of portfolio/program/ project management experience, including experience driving large scale projects and medium to large scale programs from initiation through execution.IT Experience implementing one or more structured project management methodologies on a project or program.

Strong financial/budget program management experience to effectively analyze portfolio investments.

Strong organizational, project management planning, scheduling and risk management skills and demonstrated experience using project management tools and software Ability to facilitate strategic discussions and translate those into driving tangible metrics Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner Must be a leader who can influence stakeholders in written and oral communications Highly collaborative work style which includes working effectively globally and across all organizational levels Experience working in a highly matrixed global organization and in overcoming ambiguity Leading by example, mentoring, and motivating others all around you Proven experience of managing / briefing other teams or third parties Excellent analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities Excellent judgment and decision-making Strong humility, listening, creativity, and negotiation skills EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, finance or a related field is required.

Equivalent work experience to include 7 plus years of direct Program/Project Portfolio management experience will be considered.

PMP, PgMP, PfMP, or similar certification is required.

Six Sigma, Lean trained and /or certified a plus.
