The Vice-President, Product Management will play a critical and visible leadership role combining some of the responsibilities of a CTO with those more traditionally the domain of a product manager.
As a member of the leadership team and lead solution evangelist, you will set the strategy and associated objectives required to drive market success, by delivering high-value, disruptive solutions to the mobile and connected device ecosystems. These create a flexible test bed for the development of new products and services by emulating the real wireless network in an R&D lab and by offering tools that precisely measure the user experience of data, voice, and video services. For customers who prefer to utilize our test acumen, we take these same tools and offer testing as a service to the mobile ecosystem.
A core responsibility is to synthesize and socialize a compelling long-term product vision, and to work with the development team to translate it into implementable steps that make customers advocates and that deliver a profitable outcome.
You will operate at the intersection of our development and customer-facing teams. Youll work with developers to understand our existing offerings including our strengths and limitations. Youll partner with Business Development and Solutions teams to connect with customers and understand their needs. Youll play a key role in distinguishing core requirements and important trends from “noise”, inferring the missing pieces, and ensuring that we strike the right balance between laying the appropriate technical foundations for the future, and implementing things customers need now.
The Vice-President, Product Management will maintain connections to key interest groups, partners, and industry thought leaders to ensure our responsiveness to the connected devices ecosystem.

Responsibilities
As the Vice-President, Product Management your primary accountabilities include:

Owning our Solution Roadmap:
Youll co-own the roadmap of features and functions for products and services that provide a performance “test track” for next-generation wireless and mobile services. In doing so, you will exert great influence over our most precious resource; our development teams capacity. This will require a keen ability to discern what customers really need, why, and when, and to use that understanding to synthesize a compelling roadmap. It also requires the technical depth to know when to advocate for refactoring versus adding new features.
Our solutions and market demands evolve rapidly — each quarterly release brings meaty new functionality – and our ecosystem does too. The Vice-President must be able to think far enough ahead to navigate the ship well, while staying firmly connected with the development teams current release activities.
Sometimes the old way of doing things needs to be disrupted. This means leaping over incremental product enhancements in favor of game-changing new offerings. Were looking for a difference-maker than can alter outcomes, not just keep both hands on the wheel.
Evangelizing:
Our customers make up the wireless industry ecosystem that builds communication networks and devices that deliver new consumer and enterprise services over the ether. Our blue-chip customer list includes companies like Qualcomm, Samsung, Nokia, Verizon and China Mobile. These customers do business with us because of the expert insights we can provide into the performance of their gear and services. And we strive to be the first one they call when they encounter a new challenge. As the lead evangelist for our business you will be a thought leader — someone who serves as a trusted advisor; to customers, to the business unit, and more broadly, across the company.
Connecting with Customers:
As we live on the cutting edge of technological innovation, its necessary for our leadership team to form first-person connections with senior executives and influencers at our key customers, and to take personal responsibility for making sure were responsive to their needs.
Job Requirements
For this role, we need someone who is:
Relentlessly curious
Whatever you know today, it wont be enough tomorrow. You must have an appetite for new technical concepts and a demonstrated ability to absorb them efficiently. This will be evidenced by the unusual technical breadth you exhibit.
A skilled investigator
Must be very good at finding and extracting the information you need (both technical and not) from customers, colleagues, and others with a wide variety of knowledge levels, backgrounds, and communication styles. You must be fluent at reading between the lines, be able to hear what wasnt said, and be comfortable with engineers and senior executives.
An excellent explainer
Must be skilled at finding effective ways to convey technical ideas to others (internal and external) with a wide range of interests and backgrounds. Must speak and write well and enjoy teaching. And of course, to communicate well, you must listen well.
A thought leader
Must have shown the capacity to inspire others to consider new approaches to old problems — in short, to change peoples minds (including your own.)
Autonomous and determined
You should be able to run with direction, clarify when needed, develop complete work results with minimal executive involvement. A creative problem solver who finds ways around obstacles, working all angles without giving up.
Comfortable and effective in a multi-cultural environment.
Capable of giving thoughtful feedback and open to receiving it.
Specific Skills/Knowledge Youll Need:
A track record of bringing winning products and services to market that deliver profitable outcomes
Mastery of product management practices that align the organization
Knowledge of wireless air interface standards including 4G/5G and WiFi/802.11 technology
Experience in developing successful alliances with strategic partners

Preferred:
Bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
Master of Business Administration
10 – 15 years of experience including experience both in product development and product management or business development roles
